Cory the Fish

Elijah got a fish for his birthday (thanks grandma and grandpa)! We set everything up and then I told Elijah that he needed to pick a name for the fish and in a very matter-of-fact kind of way, Elijah told me that he was going to name him Cory the Fish. Ok. That was easy.

Happy Birthday Elijah

My little guy is 3 years old! Wednesday was his birthday...It truly stumps me as to where the time has gone. I know it so cliche to say that, but it so true. Three years ago on a very rainy day Elijah came into this world. He brings such joy into our life (even when he's trying our patience). I can't imagine our life without him.

"Mud Room"

I recently was introduced to a website called This Young House and it has been inspiring in many ways when it comes to home decor ideas...so I copied or shall we say I was "inspired" by their How-To: Create an Instant Mud Room idea. We have a really odd space in our entryway that I wasn't quite sure what to do with. This is the view from the front door. As you can see, there are stairs going up to the right, going down to the right and going down to the left. There isn't really anywhere to put your purse or hang your coat, so I saw the idea and was wooed to recreating it! :)

Happy Birthday Grandma

My Grandma's birthday was yesterday and so my mom, savannah and I went to visit and have breakfast with her. It was a fun day. :)

Happy V-day

Phil and I don't really celebrate Valentines Day just because there are several other events in February/early March that occupy our efforts (Elijah's bday, our anniversary, and Savannah's bday) but this year, Elijah made daddy a Valentine and we had heart shaped pancakes for breakfast. Our college students did a number on our yard too...

He had a great day and really likes his teacher. We just can't believe he's old enough to go to preschool...we better watch out, High School's just around the corner. :)
