40 weeks

Tomorrow marks 40 weeks and still no baby. I'm getting pretty miserable and doubting that I'm even going to have a baby...

My belly is stretched to capacity and I have a rash all over it from being stretched so much. Its no fun and really itchy...makes for a fun time trying to sleep. I had a pretty big melt down this morning and let myself cry...I've been fighting it for several days, but the tears had to come at some point. Needless to say, I feel a little better and after a good shower and some make-up and doing my hair, I've managed to pick myself up by my boot straps (or flip flops since my feet don't fit into shoes anymore) and pull myself together.

I have a dr. appointment this afternoon and I'm hoping he'll have some sort of encouraging words to get me through. Although, he tends to be over encouraging and has been telling me for 3 weeks that the baby will come "any day now"...

So, life isn't really totally bad and it definitely could be much worse...I have to keep telling myself that. :)

39 weeks

Today marks 39 weeks for me...technically only one week left. I'm trying to stay positive and remember that the baby WILL come out at some point...patience is the name of the game now. I'm 3 cm dilated already and the baby has progressed down and seems to be ready to go...

I'm so excited for this new baby but trying to enjoy the last few days with just Elijah and Phil and I. This will be the last time ever that it will just be the three of us, so I'm trying to cherish every moment.

Its weird thinking that soon there will be another member to our family. It seems almost unreal. I know, just as it was with Elijah, the new baby will blend seamlessly into our family and will bring us even more joy and love than we thought possible.

I'm hoping that my next post will be when the baby is here, but who knows...

Happy 2nd Birthday Elijah!!!

Elijah turns 2 tomorrow but we celebrated this weekend with some friends and family. He thought getting to have Happy Birthday sung to him was pretty cool and even knew how to blow out his candles...

Opening gifts was a ton of fun and he loves everything he received.

Mommy's Helper

Elijah has become Mommy's helper lately and loves to help me with anything he can and that I will let him. For some reason, the past few weeks have been filled with making cupcakes and so he's become a huge fan of putting the paper cups in the cupcake pans...

Of course, "helping" is not the same unless you can lick
the bowl and spoons...

He's always loved when I've vacuumed and has always helped by
turning the vacuum on for me. This time, I thought I would actually let him
try it out and do some vacuuming on his own.

Warm February Day

Yesterday was such a warm day that we decided to clean up the garage and get the car ready for the upcoming arrival (no news yet...still baking my bun in my oven). Elijah enjoyed playing in the bucket of water and "helping" water the grass and plants in the front yard...

Preggy Update...

Well, I'm officially 2 cm dilated, which is fantastic news to me, although a little earlier than I thought, but nonetheless I'm excited. The doctor doesn't think the "big day" will happen this week, but probably more likely the week after...good enough for me...

I just hope I don't have the baby on Elijah's birthday or our anniversary...so, let's keep our fingers crossed that the 25th and 26th are uneventful. :)

My little man...

Its been a while since I've posted pictures of my little man. He's going to be 2 years old in two weeks—I can't believe it—and a big brother a week after that.
